Arizona State Parks are decking the halls and getting into the holiday spirit, and you can too, with winter and holiday events all over the state to help you celebrate! Whether you’re heading south for the winter or enjoying the colder temperatures and snow, your state parks are nearby and celebrating!
In the north, Riordan Mansion State Historic Park will host Holiday Tours every Thursday through Monday in December. Make your way through period decorations and experience a historic holiday! If you’re more of a night owl, take advantage of the Christmas Twilight Tour to see the mansion glow in the darkness. Riordan Mansion also throws a festive Annual Christmas Party, complete with cookies, crafts, and Mrs. Claus! Fort Verde State Historic Park also has great events throughout December and into January. Experience a Victorian Christmas with various events in the park and nearby Camp Verde, including Candlelight Tours of Fort Verde’s historic homes!
In the southern region lies Lost Dutchman State Park, which is reveling in its peak weather through spring. A Star Party, Full Moon Hike, plus Edible and Medicinal plant hikes are all on the calendar! Kartchner Caverns State Park hosts their famous Photo Tours on December 22, a monthly opportunity to photograph inside the caverns (which isn’t normally permitted).
